Salesian College participates in a variety of House and inter-school
sporting competitions. We aim to provide opportunities for high
participation and fun activities, as well as pathways into more elite
competitive environments.
There really is something for everyone at our College, including:
We take the view that representing Salesian College at inter-school competitions is both an honour and a privilege, and attendance when selected is expected.
Our membership with this SACCSS provides students with the opportunity to compete at an inter-school level in swimming, athletics and cross-country running (based on their performance at House competition level). Students in Years 7, 8 , 9 and 10 have the opportunity to represent the College in various sports included in the Premier League Inter-school sports competition.
Representative teams are selected from both our senior girls and boys to compete in the SACCSS Round-Robin competitions in the following sports: football, netball, cricket, tennis, basketball and volleyball.
Representation at SACCSS tennis and golf tournaments will depend on interest. Students may enter either or both of these school tournaments and play for their respective sports on the SACCSS team.
Representative teams may be chosen from Years 7 to 12 to compete in the State Secondary Schools Championships.
Our affiliation with SSV enables students who are elite in their chosen field to enter into competitions beyond those offered in the previous mentioned associations in order to gain State level recognition. Examples of sports where students have gone beyond College level include: netball, football, swimming, athletics, cross country and tennis.
The College encourages students to participate in the equestrian
events for this competition throughout the year, either individually or
as a school team.
