Agricultural education has been an integral part of the curriculum here at Salesian College for the best part of 90 years. Through Agriculture activities, students develop an understanding and application of planning, data gathering, problem solving, budgeting, importance of analysis and working in a team. We also teach intermediate skills in livestock production fundamentals including welfare, breeding programs and crop production.
At our school, we run Sheep, Cattle and Horticulture programs for students to get involved operating Simmental, Corriedale and Poll Dorset Studs. Each stud has its own selected team of students responsible for running, preparing, maintaining and showing their animals to the highest quality and capability.
Last year each Agricultural scholarship student were introduced to a diverse range of opportunities and supplied with various Agriculture career

Students have the opportunity to represent the College at various shows some including Holbrook Show, Australian Sheep and Wool Show Bendigo, Sunbury
Show, Whittlesea Show, Ballarat Show and in Victoria’s largest and most iconic Agriculture event – Royal Melbourne Show. Take a look at why
