Sport

Rupertswood has a proud sporting tradition and the programme makes physical activity accessible and enjoyable for all. All students are encouraged to participate in the House-based athletics and swimming carnivals, which are held every year.

Salesian College, Rupertswood is also a member of the Sports Association of Co-educational Catholic Schools (SACCS) providing a variety of round-robin sporting events and competitions in swimming, athletics and cross-country carnivals.

The college participates in the high-level Catholic All Schools (CAS) competition, competing in a range of sports within the context of the spirit and ethos of Catholic Education. CAS provides opportunities for students in Catholic Secondary Colleges to participate in State Level Championships and Victorian All Schools Championships across a range of sports, and CAS recognises the achievements of sporting excellence amongst the students of Catholic Colleges.

The College is affiliated with the Victorian Secondary Schools Sports Association (VSSSA), which is responsible for selecting teams to represent the State in national carnivals. Students who are outstanding athletes have the opportunity to progress to the highest level in their chosen sport.

The College also enters 'Rupertswood' teams in local, community-based sporting organisations, including: the Riddell District Football League; Gisborne Cricket Association; the Gisborne, Sunbury and Royal Park Netball Associations; and the Sunbury Basketball Association. To foster involvement in sport, Rupertswood Cricket, Netball, Football and Basketball Clubs have been formed to play in these local competitions.
